II. RULES & REGULATIONS

RULE XXI

 

STUDENT ORGANIZATION

   

A student organization shall be any association, club, or any other groups of students of the COLLEGE organized for purposes not contrary to law nor to COLLEGE rules and regulations.

Guidelines on the Establishments of Student Organization

 

No student organization shall hold, manage or promote any activity, directly or indirectly, within the COLLEG or use the name of the COLLEGE or any of its departments outside the campus, unless such student organization has been recognized by the COLLEGE President upon the recommendation of the Director, Student Services.

 

2.  The following supporting documents, accomplished in duplicate, must be presented at the time of application.

  a. Formal Letter of Application endorsed by the organization Adviser;

b. Constitution and By-Laws;

c. List of interim Board of Officers with their names; respective positions, major/courses, year levels, addresses, telephone numbers, birthdate and specimen signatures;

d. Names, year levels, major/courses, and signatures of at least fifteen (15) founding members inclusive of officers.

e. Proposed activities for the entire school year including tentative dates of implementation and brief description of each activity.

f. Name/s of faculty adviser/s with a letter of acceptance addressed to the Student Organization Coordinator.

 

A certificate of Recognition issued to a student organization may be revoked or cancelled by the Director Student Services upon the recommendation of the Student Organization Coordinator for violating its statement of purpose/constitution and/or for failing to comply with the policies and regulations of the COLLEGE.

 

 

RULE XXII

 

STUDENT GOVERNMENT 

The founders of the Aklan Polytechnic College recognized the necessity of providing young people with opportunities for participating in the democratic process. Accordingly APC approved the organization of a student government with which the School Administration shall deal in all matters affecting the student body.

 

A. The Supreme Student Government

1. The Supreme Student Government shall have three components, namely, the Executive Council, the Legislative Council, and the Student Court.

2. The Executive Council shall be composed of seven (7) members which include the President as head, the Vice-President, and department governors.

3. No Student shall be elected to the office of the President and Vice-President unless he has the following qualifications:

    a. A bonafide student enrolled in at least eighteen (18) units of credit in any of the academic units.

    b. Must be in his junior or senior year.

    c. Must have general weighted average of 2.25 (83-85%) without any grade of failure for each of the semesters during the last academic year, to be certified by the Registrar.

    d. Must have at least two succeeding semesters of residence at Aklan Polytechnic Institute.

    e. The remaining members of the Executive Council must have a general weighted average of 2.5 (80-82) without a grade failure for each of the semesters during the last academic year, to be certified by the Registrar.

B. The Legislative Council

 

The Legislative Council shall be composed of twelve (12) senators coming from various departments.

 

The qualifications of a candidate for the Legislative Council shall be the same as those of the members of the Executive Council.

 

The number of senators to form the twelve (12) senatorial slate with be determined by the number of students population enrolled in the different departments.

 

C. The School Council

 

Each School Council shall be composed of a Governor, a Vice-Governor…

 

The qualifications of candidate for a School Council shall be the same as those of the Executive Council and Legislative Council with few modification as follows:

 

a. Must be a bonafide student  of the department where he intends to be elected;

b. Must have a general weighted average of at least 2.5 (80-82%), without any failing grade during the semester immediately preceding elections;

c. No school residence is required.

 

In addition to the aforementioned requirements, the following rules shall apply:

Any candidate for a position in the student government must not have been guilty of any serious violation of the disciplinary rules of the COLLEGE.

His good moral character shall be certified  by at least two (2) faculty members in whose classes he had been enrolled.

All elected officers of the student government their successors shall have been elected and proclaimed officially.
